Time to tune up my FD



What spark plug should I use? (NGK? Iradium? what is the part #)

Should I use RedLine for transmission and differential oil?

What other basic tune up i need to do?

Sorry I overlooked your thread. I didn't mean to ignore it.

Use NGK plugs. there are trailing and leading plugs. You want to put in the trailing plugs all the way around. When you are getting them they will have a large nuber and the last number will be 9 on the trailing and 7 on the leading. You want 9's . Part # I couldn't say. I get mine from Napa auto parts.

Redline oils. Hmmm I am not really familiar with them. I would suggest BG products if you can find them. They only usually sell through good shops though and are kind hard to find.

Check the air filter. Replace the fuel filter (no matter how many miles are on it , do it now) Change the oil. Check your tire pressures. Check your coolant leves, winter is coming so make sure you got some antifreeze in it.

Are you telling me to use Trail Spark Plugs for the Leading too? What is the benefit of doing this?

I found out the part # for the spark plug

They are

Cold Plug: Lead-BUR7EQP Trail-BUR9EQP

Hot Plug: Lead-BUR6EQP Trail-BUR8EQP



I live in LA and will have 70% HWY drive. I would get the Hotter Plug, what do you think? BTW what brand is BG oil?

 

you want the colder plugs, either 7s and 9s or all 9's (9 is colder than 7)

I use Mobil1 synthetic 70w90 in the tranny and diff and really like it. Let me know if you need any tips changing the plugs, fuel filter, flushing coolant, etc .

What is the benefit of using the same plug for lead and trial?
