Thumbs up

Hey guys after about 2 years of having the 7 sit in a garage i'm finnaly working on it again. The throw-out bearing went and thus i orderd a new one. We droped the tranny put the new one in with a new pilot bearing and seals along with it. The tranny is bolted up and now were tring to attach the throw-out bearing to the pressure plate but its not going well at all. We've been prying on it for over 2 hours and cant get it to snap in. Its a stock replacement throw-out bearing from malloy mazda and a ACT 2600 lbs pressure platew ith a s/s disk and a 9.5lbs lightweight flywheel. Any one have any tricks for this?

Are you sure you put the little snap ring assembly thing in the right way? It really doesn't take force at all to get it to engage.

I thought we did, but i thought that might be the problem as well. your talking about the little gold ring that fits in the pressure plate right? That part keeps coming back out with the throw out bearing, but i'm pretty sure its in right.

Whats up fike havent talked to you inawhile hows your 7 doin?

There must be something wrong with the ring, that or its missing all together. Whe you pulled the transmission did you release the the throwout bearing properly?

Honestly i dont think so because the throw-out bearing broke when we took it out. What should all be up in there? We just broke the new throw-out bearing today tring to **** with it. I was just going to fix it up to sell it and i think i might just be able to get more by parting it out considering all the ******* trouble its giving me.
