I have broken the thermoswitch that is connected to the EC-AT control unit (part H1-06 on the wiring diagram page Z-70).

This is an automatic only part and I am having trouble finding its part number for a replacement, can anyone help me out, so far I have gone through the wiring diagrams, service manual and parts catalog and can not find any mention of the part "WATER THERMOSENSER" in the catalog. The closest I have got to identifying the part are numbers

15-010 Water Pump

N3A1-15-010C (MT)

N3A2-15-010C (AT)

N3A1-15-010D (MT)

N3A2-15-010D (AT)

Im thinking maybe on of the parts of the water pump is the part in question but they don't have a description next to them in the catalog.

Cheers,

James Simpson

Another questions, with this sensor missing is it likely to be causing my temerature sensors to be reading negative values? My PFC is coming back with negative readings and causing it to overfuel. I have the sickening feeling that this is a red herring! Can I bypass the switch? maybe earth it or ensure its not connected?

My problem is the car is in a garage that have not got much experience with FD3S and I am 700 miles away from home and need it running!

My logic is that on the wiring schematic the switch earths the 2N pin on the EC-AT control unit, the default state for this switch is open, so by physically disconnecting the switch it is the same as it being connected and open. So it should run ok if not connected?

Thanks, James

the extra switch for the a/t cars is right next to the coolant level sensor, on the fron of the thermostat housing, its N370-18-840

the temp sensor for the ecu is on the rear side of the water pump housing, its green, NF02-18-840, this is what the ecu sees

Thanks for that, but to just be totally sure on this, the parts catalog shows that sensor being plugged into the gearbox and not the coolant filler, your probably correct, just wondered why the parts catalog would be so confusing!
