so the open air filters like apexi, blitz, etc. filters are all good....

but some people are recommending air boxes....

i still have the stock IC....maybe goin for a medium SMIC sometime in the future



if i get the apexi,

what are some ways i can channel cold air into it?

vented headlight unit? RB custom air inlet?

or a custom job?



need more info...

i know someone that used a duct hose and just got the air form the bottom of the car to the intake

make sure you airbox whatever element you'll be using! (home made is better than none)

According to that website, Apexi seems to be the best all around filter.. I'm leaning towards the M2 intake box, which uses K&N air filters.. I've always wondered if it would be possible/beneficial to try and put one/two Apexi filters inside the M2 box..

Apexi it is then!!!

and i'll just make a custom air box for it...

i have access to a machine shop so hopefully i can make a decent quality one...



anyone have any suggestions as to which materials i should use?

insulating materials?

You stole my idea.. lol j/k I'm not sure if it would be worth it though.. better get a second opinion.. if I were you, I would use aluminum..

isn't aluminum a good heat conductor and would aluminum heat up real fast as

one side of it is exposed to the rest of engine bay?

i can use aluminum to make the box framework...but i think i may need to coat

the outside (side exposed to rest of engine) with some insulating foam or rubber
