I've stored my FD and an antique car every winter for years. I've never had a problem with gas following winter storage. The only caveat is that they're stored inside. Maybe it makes a difference if it's outside, with temp swings and risk of moisture condensation in the tank etc.?

Another thing to consider with long term storage is mold in the interior. I have seen it happen.

I agree.. 5-10 minutes a week would keep the battery and oil flowing.
