the dash harness conector has a ground in it that when the ecu side of the connector is stripped from the OEM ecu is no longer grounded. from memory, (its been a while) its a solid black wire a little thickerthan the others in the middle of the pins.... i could be wrong, but i remeber my cluster didnt work the first time i did a haltech install on an FD due to this oversight.
I'll read up on the how to pull an FD dash and see if that works.
Thanks again man. My life's been so crappy lately that I just want my car to work right, and this speedo/odo problem has been frustrating me. Apologies to Tyson who dealt with my repost: life sucks so much right now I don't remember even making that first post.

I pulled my dash this morning to do some research.
Which "dash harness" are you talking about? The main harness? If it is the main harness, would you mind telling me where to find it? I guess I could always trace backwards from the inputs to the dash, but asking always saves me time. I must be the only guy out there that would rather ask for directions.
I was looking on the speedo input pins, but realized there isn't a big black wire. After reading your comment again, I believe I was thinking about the wrong spot.
Thanks for the help.
Kevin
