Something's Wrong Again

I haven't gotten a chance to take it to the dealership for the compression check yet, so wev'e been checking other things. I replaced my fuel pump with the Supra pump from rx7store. It turns out, I had a huge Bosch pump in there. Don't know what kind, but it dwarfed the new one I have. I also changed the fuel filter which is a lot easier than I've heard. My thinks that maybe my crank angle sensors are bad, so we're going to check them this weekend. If everything is fine after that, then I'll make an appointment to get a compression check. I'll let know what happens.

Had similar issues a while back, and it turned out to be the pre-cat being clogged. The white stuff in the tailpipe was the giveaway for me (the white stuff IS/WAS the catalyst, or what's left of it...). Replaced with a DP and all is good. When you remove the pre-cat, make sure to check that the main cat didn't get fouled up as well.

Okay, yeah it wasn' the carnk angle sensors so guess maybe I'll drive home this week and check the cat. What does a clogged cat look like? I'm guessing I'll be able to tell if I see one, but I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me something to look for.
Right now, I'm getting fuel and spark into the cimbustion chamber, but it won't ignite. Won't even pop. Every once in a while it'll sound like it wants too start, but it won't. Does this sound like a clogged cat? I had to remove the air pump so that could explain a clogged cat.
Sorry I just drank about four red bull's so I'm kinda hyper. Okay I'm done now. So what do you guys think?

I went home after my last class ended to day and took off the cat. It seemed like was a little closer to starting than before, but still would catch. I could smell fuel and smoke was kind of oozing out of the dp, but nothing else happened. That was the last thing that I know of that I can try at home, so I got it towed into the Mazda dealership and they're going to do a compression check on it tomorrow. It costs $170 and the rotary specialist guy that for that much, they will find everything wrong with the car. That's not a bad price if they really can find out what's wrong with it.

Where's the best place to get my motor rebuilt? I like Mazdatrix.com's f level 'cause that's pretty much a new engine, but it's so damn expensive. Does Gotham Racing do a good job? How long do their rebuild usually last?
