Short Throws!

ok, from the sounds of it b&m is the way to go. 1st off, wheres the cheapest place to buy one 
? and how do i go about cutting them? die grinder and a wire feed? Also, to those of you who have hacked yours, did you keep the stock shift boot?

I cut mine down with a hack saw and then just ran a die over it to run the threads down further. I didn't see any reason not to keep the stock boot. I even bothered to snap these pictures off for ye.

I have the C's Short throw shifter. It shortened the throw by 30% or so, and made the engagement very positive. Also, I'm not sure what the large base of the B&M Style shifters is about, but my C's exactly resembles the stock shifter. It's very beefy but not too heavy, I don't think it's physically that much shorter, but the throw sure is. I think the advantage of the C's style is shorter throw and improved feel. Anyway, C's went bust, so that brand isn't avail anymore.

i have a C's shifter also. i like alot very crisp and smooth. i didnt know they went "bust" as you say but it is a very nice shifter.
