i just recently got a b&m sport short shifter. its awesome! shifting is way smoother and its a lot stiffer and quicker. definately makes the car alot more fun to drive.

I HAD a short shifter. When I went back to stock it was SOOOO much better. For me though, the short shifter helped me learn each individual gear. Without it, I have no problems now.

I have one. Not sure who made it looks just like the B&M ones. I have the MSPEED carbon gear **** to and cos of its hardness and lack of sound absobtion I can now slightly hear the sincros when I drive. The kit is great. Tight and very direct to each gear. U can feel exactly where each gear is and when your in the slot correctly, especialy with the carbon ***** feedback. Fast shifting and you never miss a gear. I also replaced my gearbox oil with some Redline stuff. Very smooth.

I also have the B&M short shifter. The quality and craftsmanship is great, not to mention it really makes the shifts shorter and more accurate. One thing I find is that it does make the shifting feel a little notchy, but that's a small price to pay for the end results.

I've had a mazdaspeed one for a long time and I happen to like mine. I had a B&M one from a parts car that I sold. It seemed to be made well. I think with most any well known product you will be safe.

Steer clear of any APC FD3S short shifters.
