Sorry if you guys think its a stupid question, but basicly my thinking was a prefromance driven vehicle, that i can buy for under $20,000 (i've found quite a few 02 WRXs for like 14-16), I wanted it to be forced induction because I from what i've driven (i was a valet for 3 years ) the turbos totally make the difference in performance.

so my most basic options were an MR2 Supercharged, or a Turbo MR2, the Rx-7, the WRX, the new SRT-4 Neon, or find a modified Civic or something =P.

I'm 6'1" so the MR2 is outmaticly out, i could never repsect myself driving a Neon, and well.. everyone and their cousin has a civic here in california. So i was left the AWD WRX @ 227 HP (can't afford STi no matter how much i want it) or the proven platform of an Rx-7 @ 255hp (when everythings brandnew =P ).

I know they're two VERY different cars, thats why i was asking for your informed opinions.

For those who offered up help, thanks a grip

if anyone else has any other opinions thanks in advance

In my opinion an Rx-7 is not a good daily driver. I love mine, but I keep it under a car cover 90% of the time. I would drive a WRX as a daily driver before I would a 7. Much cheaper to maintain!

yeah if you are looking to go cheap, get something with a warranty. And that NEON is badass, i'd get that before a WRX, they are making CRAZY Dyno numbers with that thing!!! 18psi of boost on stock internals, and just exhaust they made 280fwhp and 330fwtorque.

My '93 RX7 has been a daily driver since 1993. It has 130K miles.

It has NEVER been on a tow truck. Guess I'm lucky.

It did have a fair amount of work done at 90K miles right before the extended warranty expired:

1) New factory engine

2) New turbos

3) Rebuilt Tranny

Other than that (which cost $14K but was covered by warranty) the car has only needed routine maintenance, a muffler, and a couple suspension bushings.

One is a box, 4 seats, 4WD, with decent handling, and big HP. One is beautiful sports care, 2 seats, 2WD, top rung handling, and big HP.

BTW Chicks are not impressed by a WRX, to any but an enthusiast they are ugly.

All i can say is know what you are getting into there are a ton of probs with WRX's and there are a ton of probs with RX-7's. Just make sure you know what can happen. If you blow an engine on a RX-7 you are looking at a good 5-6k on a rebuild. If you want a very fast very fun very impratical car the 7 is for you. i love it and woudl have nothing else. Even thou it breaks my bank every couple of months. If you get a good stock one and dont build it up to much and it had a good rebuilt motor you will be fine. And youll smoke WRX's. Once you start making some serious HP thou prepare to pay is all i can say.
