Ever want to granade an RX-7 before? I'm at that point. I've tried for over a month to figure this out. This is the best I can figure. After rebuilding my motor and installing my 1680 secondaries, sx regulator, and rp comp fuel pump the car would fall flat on it's face as soon as it hit 2lbs of boost. I thought it was running too rich before we put a datalogit on it and found it was going extremely lean. A buddy of mine adjusted the maps to take care of the lean mixture and now it only goes extremely lean about the time the secondaries are to kick in. I thought my 1680s were bad so I changed back to my 850 setup and still have the same problem. My fuel pressure at idle is 43 and goes up to about 55 while boosting. As the car leans out the fuel pressure does not change. I've checked the resistance on each of my secondary injector wires and they all have the same resistance so there shouldn't be a broken wire or anything. I'm at a loss. Where do I go from here. Is there any way to test if the secondaries are coming online? What tells the secondaries to come online at 3700 RPMs? Any help would be great! Thanks.

This is crazy! I've had this problem for over a month now. I've even entertained the thoughts of pulling the motor, selling it along with all my upgrades and order in a used stock setup from Japan and leaving it as stock. How despirate is that

Good luck with your adventures. Mine was down almost 9 months during the rebuild and now it's been up and down every few days trying to get the lean problem taken care of. I feel your pain. The first 3 months of mine was trying to have a motor build and when I got ripped on that one I decided to try a rebuild myself from a how to video. It starts after I was done. We'll see what kind of mileage I get from here. What kind of problems are you having?

first off i do not know anything about tunning...

now, does the car run lean past the 3700 rpm mark, or it just hits a lean spot and then it goes back to "normal"?

Honestly I'm not sure. Usually as it happens I back off the throttle and hit another gear to drop the RPMs to keep from blowing the motor. So I'm not sure if it continues or not. I think I can run the RPMs up beyond 3700 but if I hit any boost at all it falls flat on it's face. It may be running lean but when the boost hits it goes extremely lean. I had a buddies wideband on it just while we were testing it one weekend. So I don't know how lean it's getting untill it starts to hesitate.

Where is your stage point for the injectors? Try blending the two stages (backing off primary injectors ms while adding 2ndary injectors ms) near the 2 psi 3700 rpm mark. Blend it 600 rpm before and after to smooth out the transition. ODn't ahve the two as a step function.
