I was wondering what you guys think of a 300zx TT because I may have come across a family friend that may be letting it go soon.

I knu asking this on this forum is biased, but hey I wanted an opinion.

I knu stock to stock the 0-60/0-100 are quite a fat chunk faster on the RX, but 1/4 is pretty even, depends on driver I guess. From my person knowledge I'd say RX handles TONs better due to weight and the 50/50 action going on. 300zx is what, 3.4k lbs.

Anyone think this is a suitable car to keep me at bay for another 5 years until I can probably afford my dream RX-7.

I knu most people either hate or love the 300zx look.

I wouldn't even be posting it if I just came across it, but I personally know the person and is the first owner. He has kept is super mint condition, it was his baby, but he's going onto a C5 Vette. The amazing thing is the 22k miles on the engine, and the fact that it's a twin turbo. He was willing to let it go for 15k to dealer for a trade-in for the vette, but I can get ahold of it for that price probably.

I unno...I love the Rex....but that thing is quite the sweet ride....anyone owned or has one (300zx) and know if it can be made to atleast handle near decent compared to the Rex....

BTW: it's a 5 speed and it was not his daily driver, obviously.

15 will get you an fd.... this isnt your DD is it??? i think they both make shitty DD's and wouldnt reccomend either, with that said save up a bit more and buy a DD and an FD =D why pay 15k for something you only kinda like when you can save a bit more and get the foundation of your dream car?

Handling is just about tapped out on those cars, you can't do much besides tires to get it to stick better. Plus 15k sounds kind of high for a Z32, I usually see them for around 9k-12k.

I've never been really impressed with the 300z TT I've driven both and found the 300z to just not be as pleasurable. I dont think the 1/4 mile times are that close though. Pretty sure the 300z TT is about 15.0 to 15.4 and the rx-7 is a 13.5 to 14.1. I'm pretty sure can anyone back this up?

15 grand for a tt with only 22,000 miles is a decent deal. people pay big bucks for all original low mileage cars like that.

however if 22,000 is on a new engine, and there is a lot more on the body then i wouldn't even consider it.
