My car has been stock up to this point but I was thinking of adding a downpipe. I remember reading that M2's downpipe (are they even in business anymore) didn't require the removal of the turbo manifold studs during install. Is this unique to their dp or do most others share this quality?

thanks

The eBay DP I got didn't require removal of the studs. Three studs came out and one broke off.. Chances are that the studs will come out when you loosen them, as opposed to the nut coming off. I think the difference is that the M2 and Pettit versions can re-use the studs, whereas I had to make my own new adapter bolts for my eBay thing.

But FWIW, and you may have thought about this already... if I could do it over again, I'd get a heat coating before installing whatever DP you choose. Mine was already in, and all I could do was wrap it, but that alone made a big difference with underhood temp.

The M2, HKS and old school R-Magic DP's are the only ones I know of that can be installed wothout removing the studs. the pipe is shallower at the top, allowing you to slide it into the extremly tight area around the turbo's.

I got the HKS dp and it went in without a prolbem and without removing the studs!
