What year did Mazda switch to the factory downpipe on the j-spec rew's?

none of the j spec engines had a pre cat.

on a related note, any guesses how to decide the year a set of turbos came from? Picked up a used set of turbos and manifolds, just trying to ID what exactly they are.

heres a quicky list of changes to the fd engines, its off the top, so its NOT 100% accurate



12/91 start of production.

8/93 turbo is updated from n3a1 stamp to n3c1

3/94 cooant recall is done from the factory

4/95 fuel recall done from the factory, exhaust manifold switched to the "n3a7" non egr part

1/96ish turbos updated again n3c1-13-700a, intake gaskets now metal, y pipe updated to the "efini spec" n3f1, ecu updated.

11/98 rotor housing oil metering updated for the 99 spec cars, "rats nest" updated, ecu updated again, optional is the n3g1 280ps spec, n3g1 turbo.
