Profec B Or Powerfc Boost Control Kit?

If you plan on boosting over 17psi you will need the 3bar map sensor that comes in the boost control kit, or a gm 3bar. PFC boost control is very simple, not like the AVCR. They just both use the same solenoid. So AVCR boost control solenoid for $150 and a 3bar map sensor for $70 and you can control boost on the pfc up until about 30 psi.

As a stand alone boost controller though...you can't beat the Profec B.
So I just get the AVC-R solenoid and a 3bar... and I can control the boost with the PFC commander? Hmm.. That almost sounds TOO EASY..

Just interested where the best place to buy this stizzuff is.



I can get the new Profec for REAL cheap, but with this I don't have another damn gadget in my car to **** with..

justin from what ive heard the PFC is inconsistant at best when it comes to controlling boost. The ORIGINAL Profec B is tried, true, and simple, where some people have had issues with the Spec II. I believe its Turbonetics who also has a brand new controller out that can control boost depending on gear, rpm, engine load, etc up to 45psi If it was my money, id get the simplest thing out there that works flawlessly, so id go with the original profec B.

Every pfc that does not control boost correctly that I have ever seen has been hooked up wrong. It is important to use the correct sized hoses. -6 (8 pi) from the piping right after the compressor to the side of the wg, -4 (6pi) from right after the compressor to the solenoid and -4 from the solenoid to the top of the wg. It is important that you don't "T" the source, you have tap into the piping twice. If you do this you will get very accurate boost control, not have an extra box to screw with or the wiring that goes with it. The original Profec B does work very nicely though, if you have to go with something else.
