Alright so I'm getting a PFC for a 94 touring.

It comes with the PFC, Commander, and a holder for the commander.

What else should i get for this thing? I was hoping to download maps from online and put them on and tweak them to the car (i have an Innovate LM1 WB). There seems to be so much stuff out for it on the software and hardware side of things so I was hoping to get a "must have list" for it.

Any help?

edit:

Also here is the info on the PFC, is it a good one?

serial number on the actual ecu is:

PFC FD3S4 020-2268

serial number on the box it came in is:

414AZ004

dependin on em.. you can get away with the virgin map..

all youd need to do is to reset the pfc to get it back to this stage..

the stock pfc comes with a map thats really close to stock, so it actually runs really well on a stockish* car

you will need a datalogit to change the maps.

To be honest kev, it would behoove you to get it tuned. Every car runs a little different, and just throwing a map on sometimes works well, sometimes doesent.

Depending on your mods the base map should be good for a while. I'm making 305whp using the base map and just tuning the air/fuel, but if you were going to make much more I would say get it tuned. I've also been runing this set up for the past 6month to a year.

mods:

Stage 3 BNR Twins - Non-Seq

Exhaust (dp, mp, cb)

Intake

Upgraded SMIC

Stock Ports

Walbro

Koyo Rad

Alum AST

Sorry for the vagueness, im still not sure what the "exact" parts are, but i know those things (well ill be adding the BNR's and walbro, the rest came with the car)

Yea i plan on getting it professionally tuned but i figure i have a WB so if i get a good map to start off from a car with similar mods i can tune it decent enough to get it to the real tuner.

Thats basically my mods minus the Walbro, and as long as you don't lean it out you should be fine. I just adjusted some air/fuel usuing a WB, I haven't messed with timing any and I haven't had any problems. I've also drove the crap out of it 2-3 track days like this, so if someone tells you that you can't run the base map witout getting it tuned or you will blow your engine, they are crazy.

well thats good news, so basically get a datalogit and put the base maps onto the PFC and go with that?

great, now if the base maps arent on there what do i have to do to get them? Amp mentioned resetting the PFC to get the virgin maps, is it that simple?

Kevin,

Get in touch with Chuck (cewrx7r1 on RX7club). He wrote a tuning pack it that you could read to clearify about tuning via PFC($30). I think its worth it to buy it and read it.

It will answer most of what your asking plus help you get your hand wet.
