Hey everybody. It's been a while since I posted. I think one of my last posts was about rebuilding my engine. Well, I'm proud to say I DID IT!!! I managed to remove, overhaul, and install my engine from a how-to video.

Now I need help adjusting my power fc. Here is what my setup is now. Apexi single turbo, pettit racing intercooler, ACT StreetLite Flywheel, power fc w/commander , upgraded secondary injectors to 1650cc top feed, sx fuel regulator, RP Competition Fuel Pump, 40psi fuel pressure, and plan to run about 15psi boost after the engine is broken in.

I'll tell you right now, I don't know anything about tuning. I did manage to set my power fc to single turbo and change my secondary injector setting to 1500cc. It won't go any higher. Here is my problem. The car has plenty of take off upto 2psi of boost then it falls flat on it's face sputtering. I understand that I'm dumping twice the fuel into the system with the larger injectors but how do I adjust it down. It looks like the primary and secondary injectors are set at 100% from looking at the screen where you adjust the injector size. I've read not to run the injectors at 100% but as I try to set them lower the idle starts jumping up and down by a few hundred rpm's. I've also tried adjusting the secondary's to 80% and leaving the primary's at 100% I can only get about 1psi boost before the car starts sputtering.

This might be related to the lighter flywheel. If I'm driving at 3000rpms and push the clutch in to let the rpms fall, it drops to 300rpms and then jumps back to about 1000 rmps to idle. That is if it doesn't stall before regaining power.

I'm located in Winston Salem, NC. Does anybody know who is a good tuner around this area?

Thanks again for all the help everybody has been so far. Love reading the new posts! I 've learned so much since I've became a member.

stop boosting the car!

you need a datalogit to properly change the injector settings in regard to size and flow.

Find a tuner that knows what he is doing and spend the money to get it done.

In the single turbo section on the other forum there is a powerFC tunning manual. It is stickied to teh top (or was last time i was over there) and written by wargasm. (brian) Read over that and it should answer your questions. But basically, you need a datalogit to tune the car.

Yeah, I do need to stop with the boost. That's what put me in my second engine in a year and several $$$ less in my pocket.

Anyway, I'll have to do some research for a good tuner. Any idea who I can turn to within 4 hours any direction of Winston Salem, NC? Less mountains the better, remember I can only boost 2 psi. What kind of price am I looking at???

rotorsports can get you close but they do not have a dyno. they can get your car driveable, and fun, but not 100% tuned. i got my car tuned at balanced performance in atlanta, and was very pleased.

tuning typically runs around 150/hr.

You dont need a dyno to tune it, but it helps. Such big injectors! You might have found it easier splitting the extra by running bigger primaries and not so big secondaries. A total of 1700cc sould be enough for 500+ at wheels.

The guys at rotor sports are reportedly, very good. PM Shannon (GreyGT-C) for more info about them. I think they are in Kanapolis (sp?) NC. You are right not wanting the injectors at 100%. On average you dont wanna above an 80% duty cycle. I assume you are using the r-6 turbo and stock primary injectors? If so, IMO I dont think 1650s are overkill, you just need to get it professionaly tuned.

I've heard that rotor sports were very good and I've done business with them a few times in the past but the last time I had dealings with them, there was an issue that severed our business connections. I don't want to go into detail on a forum about such a subject.

Yeah, I'm running stock primary injectors and the Apexi RX-6 turbo kit. I don't know much about turbos but I've been well pleased and impressed with the power and spool up.

I was wrong about the secondary injector size. They are bosch 1680's. I was hoping it wasn't to overkill. I wanted to have pleny of fuel for future upgrades. I've seen a few setups that were similar so I assumed it would work with the proper tuning.
