The pumps voltage raises as you get into boost and rpm to a peak of 12v.

I wired my dual walbros to see 12v all the time

The pump is a two speed pump. There is a resistor that cuts the voltage to something like 7.5 or 8 for low load driving. When the ecu see high load, the reststor is bypassed and you get the full 12 volts and high speed pump operation.

I don't see any particular reason to run the pump on high constantly.

Any management tune by a person who does not know what they are doing can break a motor. But ignorance is bliss

I never blew an engine while using the one i had... although i did have maps "revert" to older settings on me and i had to check my maps every few days to make sure they we still at a safe level.

I know several people who used to run the Purple box that ended up with blown engines even though they were tuned by a Pro.. Peter himself.

Grey GTC, I have run the PFS purple box since 1994 and I have never heard of anybody blowing a motor using it UNLESS they ran a midpipe with the twins, something Peter did not recommend or UNLESS they were rookie tuners.

And this is the first I have ever heard of a Peter Farrell-tuned motor blowing.

Names & circumstances please. You are making me nervous.

Yeah, I've been using with purple box on 15 psi with a midpipe for some time now. Everything seems to be in order, it runs really, really rich.

Jose Corraliza popped one with his and so did Doug Underwood i beleive. Both we're running MP though, and i think both had the "pink" software.

I have seen the maps revert on mine 4-5 times before i ditched it. I had the "pink" software in mine also... Any idea which is in the ones you have?

Anyone running a MP on stock twins is asking for it. Plain and simple.

Now I know when you switch the **** sometimes you get an error code 004* and it got stuck in the wrong map(lo mode will be on map 2 IE) but it reports the error code and you should look at it. So again it did not break motors just users error.

So dont blame the Purple box. Sounds like some John Duff BULLSHIT and you cant trust that ******* guy. He knows nothing about these cars but will blow sunshine up your *** on the daily if you let him.
