What would you need to do to paint some stock wheels black or gunmetal? Would just wall paint work or would you have to get something more, for lack of a better word, resistant to scrapes from rocks showing through to the silver.

i just used regular *** flat black spray paint on my wheels... and havent gotten any chips at all.. BUT there is some paint made specifically for wheels.. they make it in white/black/gunmetal. Its supposed to be more resistan to rock chips and what not.. i tried that on my old wheels, and i really see no difference... here is my car now...

Just spray paint? Did you sand them at all before you did it? BTW I love how they look on your car

Well i did the whole sand them down with different grits sand paper on my 1st set.. and i did them gloss black. With the Flat black, i just made sure they were really clean from any oils, dirt and whatnot, then just sprayed them. I know when you do a glossy color, its gonna need to be really smooth for it to look right, thats why i sanded down the 1st set, but with the flat black its different.. no need to sand

here is a closeup of my wheels. I mixed a few colors together to get this combo. It's a charcoal, gunmetal, metallic type deal.
