So I finally got my boost gauge installed and now when i turn my car on it shoots up to 3500RPM and will keep rising. Great thing is I dropped the nipple cover thing when I took it off so I can plug that back into see if it'll run right. Anyone know why this happens?

I think your talking about the "Accelerated Warm-Up System" (AWS). On a cold start, it's suppose to do that but it's hard as hell on your engine. The easiest way to disable that is to start the car in gear. If your car is warm it shouldn't do that.

Well It's well over 100 degrees out here and I was driving a few hours ago. It's never done this before. Usually it'll sit a lil over 3k and then go down but now it just keeps going up and if I rev it'll stay at the RPM I revved to...

where did you install the hose for the gauge? id you happen to take off the manifold?

just a few weeks ago, i took my upper intake manifold off, and forgot to tighten all the screws ... the car shot up to 4000rpm as soon as i turned the key. the car also made a wicked sounding wistle sound

Yeah it turned out to be just the throttle cable sticking. I musta pushed it down a lil when i was reaching for the hose and pushed it out of place. Just had to unhooke it from what it was hooked on.
