450 ft/lbs. ****. I don't want to carry a 6 ft. breaker bar to get my wheels off.

I'm really not concerned with the practicality of this type of modification. I'm only curious as to what parts on the car would have to be swapped out. Torque settings don't mean much to someone who doesn't honestly plan to go through with it. Besides I doubt it's that high. I'd imagine that 250+ ft lbs would be impossible to break free with an air rachet which would defeat the whole purpose of quick changes in the pits.



Would you have to modify the rear axles at all for this type of set up? Thanks, Ryan.

Ratchets go to and through 800 fpt and the ratchets they run at the races are nitrogen powered.

Still sounds like it'd break your arm trying to hold it steady.

i talked to a bunch of people about this a couple years ago and the only place that could do it was pettit and they wanted a $1000.00 per axle. i said holy crap thats alot and said forget it. also not only would you need the conversion but new wheels and new rotors for the brakes.

my tr3 has knockoffs on it, its got an adaptor that bolts where the stock 4 lug wheel would mount, and then its got a splined extension so you can slide the wheel on.



the "nut" has ears so you hammer it on and off

rfreeman27, sorry about that...was working on the 996 GT3 cup car then. All came with single lug nuts ^^



And it was 450'ish Newton meter. Not foot pounds.



22goinon2, yeah...I'm skinny...and I shook pretty badly with the bloody airgun hahaha. And it was branded stuff too!!! SP Air... lolz

ive seen cobra kit cars w/ real knockoffs but they still had 5 lugs, but they were short, more to steady the wheel, and then the literal knockoff (with a hammer like j9 has) and that keeps it tight
