I have this. It levels out when the A/C is on or the parking lights or the fans on 3. Just haven't had the time/funds to figure it all out. It is NOT the clutch switch for me. If only it were....

Revs up and down like you are blipping the throttle?

If so, I would say a vacuum leak or your idle screw is not closed enough. 1.2 K idle is too high. Mine would do the 1 -1.5K bounce then settle around 1.2K after adjusting the idle screw as far as it would go to compensate for a very rich idle (too much fuel pressure from manual FPR). It would also bounce like that if the PCV hose blew off under boost.

would this cause loss of boost as well maybe only to 4psi

That sounds exactly right....any recommendations?

It would take a massive vacuum leak to bleed off that much pressure. You may need to do the whole vacuum hose job. Your problem may be a combination of vacuum leak and solenoid trouble? Or intercooler piping cracked?

Well, as long as you are ABSOLUTELY sure you have no vacuum leaks, you can adjust the idle screw. Check for leaks first. You can hear if the PCV valve blew off 6 feet away!

The idle screw is on the underside of the throttle body. You can adjust your idle from 1.2K down to 800. CHECK FOR LEAKS FIRST!!
