Adhesive strips of velcro work pretty good for securing the PFC without using screws.

I also second checking the crank-angle sensors. Didn't think of that at first and the wires do tend to get brittle. Careful though, because they are shielded.

Could I ask someone for a moment of their time to tell me where the crank sensor is located, preferably by showing it on a picture? I need help locating it, I have googled for it, got the multimeter ready and I know what resistance level the sensor should read just need to know where it is!

Many Thanks

No problem. You can download the Factory Service Manual from this site. Look under DOCUMENTS: http://www.wrex-racing.com/web/fd/info.htm

Look on page F-166. The FSM refers to it as the "Crankshaft Position Sensor". There are pictures and instructions for removal and testing.

This is the best picture I could come up with. One of the two sensors is a little hard to pick out, but they're both there along with the trigger wheel. They're circled in blue......

Careful with the wires, they are shielded and have a reputation for getting fragile with age.

before you try removing them and testing them... just try re-seating the connector on each of them.
