Non-sequential And Still No Boost?
#11
if they are "whining" really really loud, like a dentist drill, they are shot. I'd check the turbos for excessive shaft play and wear. My turbos wouldn't generate boost, and i had the "real" non-seq.. ended up being that my turbos were toast.
edit: "had the real non-seq" heh T78 now.

are the pills still in the wastegate lines? w/o boost control set up right, the car will only boost to 7psi on that set up anyway.....
there is bound to be something leaking out somewhere before the TB.....if he does not have an efini Y pipe, check that coupler, as it is a hella culprit and can be split on teh back side towards the firewall and you'd never know it...
and as far as the whistling of the turbos is concerned. take that with a grain of salt too. some poeple say that when they whistle, they are going bad, maybe. but it also has to do with the intake choice too. i found that the shorter the intake tube was that the louder the turbos got. i eventually go down from having a long pipe to having a small filter come off of the turbo itself and they sang with a great beauty....and were perfectly fine.....

When my first set of twins went out, They whistled very badly for about 3 months. It progressively got louder but they always boosted fine. Tnen one day I ran it hard against a vette and they started grinding. I ended up breaking about 4 blades clean off.
