I'm following the write up from FD3S.net and also some of Dave's, but my car really needs to pass emissions when I'm done.



The write up says to remove the EGR valve, wont this make it so I wont pass?

What do I have to keep to pass?

And do I need the charcol canister to pass as well?



Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AFAIK, the EGR has nothing to do with the sequential system...or non-sequential conversion, other than you would have to remove it to access stuff. Without reading through the how-to, the author is probably just suggesting this is a good time to install a block-off plate while your in there. But if you need to pass emissions I would NOT remove it.

In the fd3s.net write up it says that the 95 doesn't have the egr valve or pcv valve so he says to take them off. I was hoping that someone that has done this conversion that still passes emissions would say what they didn't remove.

i live in nevada and smog rules are differnt for all states but weure are req. to do a visual inspection for all emm. part the the maufacture label has listed on them as long as they are there and have vaccume lines on them and SEEM to be functional its all good but like signal said its not part of the seq turbo system so dont remove it. there is a great write up by fd3boost in the 3rd gen faq section anyway.

Thanks. I've been using the write up from fd3boost(Dave) and the one from fd3s.net, but neither

one really says what all you need to keep for emissions. And I want to remove as much of it as I can.

Fortunately, I live in a state that does not have emissions testing. But since emissions standards and requirements (visuals etc) tend to vary from state to state, it's not likely that anyone is going to suggest exactly "what all you need to keep". If you have emissions, and especially if you have to pass a visual inspection, it sounds like you should leave the EGR. Off-hand I'm not sure how much they cost, but while your in there, you might consider changing it or possibly cleaning it. But you probably should keep it to be safe.

Thanks for your info. The fds3.net write up says that the 95's don't have the egr valve Does anyone know anything about this?
