The last owner did have the boost controller wound right up but luckily due to the hole in the intercooler pipe it only read about 8psi on the boost gauge and controller so I think its been saved.

No one finds this alarming? hole in the intercooler pipe with high boost setting? Boost only shows 8 psi BUT... wouldn't the ecu keep pushing the turbos to run harder to meet the higher boost setting? (i.e. over-spool the turbos?)

Thanks guys, I think is probably nothing to worry about at the moment. I cant run the car at the moment as I cant fit the intercooler without removing the air pump and I cant do that until my new pullies and belts turn up so the project is on hold for now.

vancouverrx7 - thats thought. The guy only had the car for a month so I hope it will be ok.

I hope so too... 40k is too low for these turbos to be spitting oil.
