what is the difference between the actual rubber mounts for the motor. not the brackets that they bolt to.

i know that one bracket is steel and the other is aluminum but whats the deal with the mounts. i bought 2 off ebay but they were exactly the same (as each other) and Joe of smokin joe racing said they had to order one from mazda because mine were both from the passanger side.

anyone know if theyre interchangable or if the actual mouts are different here is a link to the auction i got

auction

any and all help would be appreciated

The rubber is glued directly to the aluminum one so, no, the rubber is not the same either.

Thats interesting. I thought they would have been the same for some reason.

They're definitely different. Also, one is steel and one is aluminum, but I always forget which was d/s and which was p/s.

anyone know where i can find the technical specs so i can dispute the seller on ebay. right now hes telling me these are good for either side and this is what he used in his car.

i have already solved the problem on my end (295 from mazda... ****** vultures) but im just going for the principle on this one

You can put the iron mount on either side if you like, but you need the whole thing then. And I believe the 94 and 95 might have iron on both sides?

im not concerned about the metal mounting brackets as both of mine are fine. its the bushings or whatever that are in debate

mike if there is a difference in them, and one is supposed to go on one side and the other going to the other, you have every right to get your money back. from waht i remember your car only needed the driver side mount, then why would you buy something that does not belong there. bottom line is the guy gave bad information saying that you can use the mounts when you cant. tell that to paypal, and to ebay and you're set.

Aluminum is driver side and iron one for passenger.

Aluminum ones are 1-piece and rubber is bonded to the Al. As far as the iron one the mount could be separated.

Later 13B-REW engines came with both iron mounts since aluminum ones break/separate quite often.
