I was looking around at JDM parts and came across these seats: http://www.japanparts.com/Pic/pic067/20-4.JPG My question is this: has anyone tried these out? I'm doing all of the parts research I can and lightweight seats and harnesses are a must. I was seeing if anyone's tried these and if there are any weird fitment problems or things I should know about them. Also, I need some really good harnesses, we're not talking over-shoulder only, I need 5 points (with "submarine" belt) and I was seeing who has the best without comfort being too much of an issue. Thanks to anyone who helps.

You say that lightweight seats are a must. The stock seats are pretty light to begin with. What type of motorsport are you involved with that the weight of the stock seat is an issue? Have you stripped your interior to save weight?

Haven't started mods yet. But, it'll be primarily drag and/or Solo II. I also need seats that'll support harnesses. I know the stock ones have the ability, but I'd rather not for random reasons.

The mazdaspeed seats are heavier than stock I believe. I would go with the recaro SPG's if you are worried about weight savings. Or you could get the 99 spec Recaro's.

I was going to get seats once but then I just decided that I'll recover mine one day. I've got harnesses in now and they work great with the stock seats. I'm about to take the harnesses out though for non related reasons but they do work with the seats.

Glad looks aren't inportant...lol

Good luck with what you decide.

Link for the Recaro's? The whole reason I was going JDM Mazdaspeed is so that I won't be like every other ricer around my area with sparcos, momos, and recaros. We have tons and tons of these people and I wanted something completely different. (Ractive doesn't count, lol, we have those too.) Grr...another edit: I like the looks of those seats as well. I noticed the style resembles those Bride seats everyone seems to be clamoring over. Very 90s (like the FD.)

Hmm...sounds kind of ricer of me doesn't it? Don't get me wrong, I'm disgusted by things that serve no purpose other than to "look fast." Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to buy the seats and try them out myself. You guys want a review afterwards?
