hey guys, i have a problem. i just put in a new motor at the beginning of the year. and since then i notice that my oil pressure is low. when i'm idling, it's at about 15-30 and when i'm driving on the freeway, it's at about 40-50. is this right. cause sometimes, it's idling at 30 and up to about 65-70 on the freeway. i was told that it's just the sensor. ????

i would test the oil pressure sender and gauge. they are notorious for failing

yep the stock sender is prone to fail. usually the connector gets full of oil from the oilfilter when you remove it. Try taking the connector off, clean up both sides of the connection and see if that helps.

Are you using the stock sensor or do you have an aftermarket one? Just wondering because when I compare the stock one to my defi one, the defi's WAY more accurate..

I have never driven any vehicle that didn't flucuate oil psi. @ idle the psi always drops and under a load it raises. Cleaning/repalcing the sensor may reduce the violent fluctuation but it should have some movement always.
