Hey all, Wooffinn here. Recently a guy down south contacted our car club with a couple of gen 3 RX-7's for sale. I'm not sure if either are the genuine thing even though he assures us he has paperwork from Mazda Japan themselves stating there're for real. I'm a bit rusty on gen 3's[ as there're a bit rare over here in any form], so hopefully you guys can shed some light!

The first one is a '95 SP1. He's says only 38 were made and only 15 are left worldwide.

the second one is '97 SP2. Apparently this is the only one ever produced. He says Mazda have verified this. He wants $70000AU for the '95 and $150000AU for the '97, so the prices are certianly rare!!

Any info would be appreiated guys.

i don't know what an sp1, or sp2 is. we didn't get them over here. i sorta do find it hard to believe he knows how many are left. its not easy to get info out of mazda japan, at least in the states

i seem to recall hearing about a SP rx-7. i think they were used in some race series in australia. I think the name of the race was "battle at mountain creek". or something like that.

Hey RussellTT94, That model was the 'Bathurst' Limited edition your probably thinking of. It was released as a special model after Mazda's great success at the 12hour endurance race that used to be held at 'Mount Panorama', in Bathurst. Yeah I'm really not sure what he's on about. I know of a 'Spirit R' which I believe had a limited run of 1500 but was only released in Japan[Maybe Jspecracer7 could help us out here as he resides there]

Quite a few people over here reckon there was an SP model brought here but I think it's just a A-spec model. They were all incredibly expensive over here and Mazda didn't sell many at all. Mazda stopped importing in '97 due to only selling 21 in '96!

i know that they had the rz in 96-97-98, it had bilsteins, reacros, 17" bbs wheels. then for 2000 they brought it back, they were all pearl white. then they have the bathhurst r, in 2001. then the spirit r in 2002.
