hi guys,

I can't beleive it.... its dead... I mean it was fine... healty.. running strong... and now ... Its dead...

I have no clue... I won't let it go without a fight....

i was just driving it a few days back and it was running fine and then suddenly after 5 mins of driving it made a sound hesitated and then the cars sound changed completely... it did not hold idle.. at idle it would stall... and while driving it had no power... so i turned the car around and came home... the car was making boost but no power and sounded like a V8 with crazy cams..... when i looked at the exhaust after parking the car... it was red hot... i mean it was glowing red....

then i let the car cool down and the next day i tried starting it thinking it was all a bad dream... it did start but still did not hold idle and sounded the same...the exhaust is as white as milk....

So now i have taken out the cat thinking it was causing a restriction but found it in the best shape now the car does not even start.... i gave it a few selfs.. i can smell the fuel... but it seems like the engine does not rotate.... where is the MAP sensor... is it the boost sensor??

what to do....could it be the ECU?

some feedback please...Help me have to save it... I love my FD
What was the sound it made when it hesitated? The car may not be starting now because it is flooded.

Before concluding it is a blown engine do another poor mans compression test. It is rare that you have no compression.

I had a similar experience. Leaving a light, normal driving, I got a squealing sound, a hesitation. I limped back home and cut the car off. Next day would not start. I flooded it trying to continue to start it.

Once I got the car to started it turned out to be my primary turbo had ceased. I found out by removing the turbo intake piping, and trying to turn the turbo by hand, I could not turn it.

Sounds like this guys needs a mechanic more than anything.

No disrespect intended but you don't sound like you have a clue as what to do. So I seriously suggest finding a shop nearby that can help you.

you are very right... i need a good FD mechanic.... someone who knows about FDs but sadly there are none around where i live.... Can a blown engine be easily repaired?? also by someone who has never repaired one?? but is a good mechanic otherwise...

what parts would i need.... and where to buy... I was thinking of importing a new engine from Japan since my car is a 1998 model...

what do you guys suggest....

could quite possibly be.. check the hose diagrams on the net and see if eveything is hooked up correctly... my map sensor was installed incorrectly so my car ran like *** as well.

It spoke to me today......

I had another guy take a look at it.... He opened the spark plugs and said there seem to be oil... so he cleaned the plugs and put them back in... And i tried starting the car... and it did start... he said there was good compression... did the poor mans compression test... This guy is new to the Rx too... But i think the old was trying to take me for a ride... cuz he said that the car had no compression.... the car did start.. but it won't idle and sounds bad... it gave white smoke for a while and then black.. i kept the rpms at 2000 for a little while and then there was no smoke ... the guy said that the plugs are faulty... so i am having them changed tonite... can it just be the plugs...

Please tell me... It sounds like a 4 cylinder car running with one less cylinder...

I hope with this new development someone can pin point my problem

Thanks
