Interesting MIL

To continue troubleshooting this before plugging in a new stock ecu or power fc I would like to verify the values on all wires running to the ecu. Where can i get a test harness for the ecu, one that allows the ecu to be connected to the connectors but has another set of connectors i can use with a probe? Similar to a harness used for piggy back setups but with the extra set of connectors.

From what I have seen on the working FD at the shop the MIL (Led ive put in the diagnostic box) lights up for about 3 seconds when the ignition is turned on but goes out and does not come back on. Im not sure if the USDM FD's are different or not.
when you jump "ten" and "gnd" on a us car, and turn the key on. the check engine light turns on for 3 seconds, and then it flashes the code(s).
afik, when you look at the signal with a voltmeter, its opposite. the voltmeter is on and then turns off for the codes

Ok, but if it has no codes to display the light goes out after 3 seconds and stays out?
