I'm Exhausted
#1
Well I dedicated the entire day to pulling the engine. Got side tracked alot but I am almost done.
The only problem is that I can't get the engine out of the car. I disconnected alot of things. Pulled the wires from the ECU. A few hoses in the back. Everything is out of the engine.
I have a few questions. The engine is coming out fine for a few seconds then gets stuck. I think the flywheel is getting stuck to the top of the bell housing. I took the long way and took the 6 screws to unhook the clutch from the flywheel. COuld this be the only thing keeping it in?
Also...Where am I supposed to tie it to the engine crane? On the little UIM hook? How do others tie it up?

if your leaving the UIM attached, you can use that hook in the back and the hook in the front. They should be diagonal of each other. I normally pull the UIM off and thread a bolt into one of the tranny holes as on point, and the front engine eyelet as the other.
Once you get it out of the engine mount holes(with the engine lift) try to wiggle the engine out of the tranny by pushing on the LIM back and forth. That may do it.

Put on the UIM and use the hook that attaches there for hooking. Then run the chain from that one to the other hook,.
If you undid the bolts for the flywheel your loose.
Look around your just snagging on something.
You are clearing the subframe right? '

u can release the motor mounts from the engine. the manual says 2 leave them on but they do get caught sometimes. support it and just take out the stubby bolts holding the mount 2 the engine and you should get some more space to move front 2 back if u are still hitting the bell housing
