I have found that I could make enough power to run in the all motor nhra class against the hondas, dodge, and the rest of the fwd cars. I'm thinking of using a third gen car. my question: could I get a third gen. down to 1900lbs? I'm thinking fiber glass doors, nose, lexan windows. the car has to have stock chassis.

I figure I could make 380-395rwhp with Rx8 high compression rotors and all my custom intake and exhaust on methanol fuel. should be pretty interesting seeing a beautiful third gen in the all motor class. I don't want to use a first gen. like Jesus Padilla is already doing. opinions please..

i think its possible..also don't forget a fiber glass or carbon fiber hatch. Also lighter driveshaft and of course wheels. Strip the interior light seat. you could do it Ito!

Does this mean you made 390 without the spray on your RX-3?

I don't know. That is a lot of weight to shave off. Almost a thousand pounds. I'd like to see it though.

Fiberglass doors/lexan windows, fiberglass fenders/front bumper, rear window trim with lexan rear windshield. Small radiator/fan combo. 5 to 10 gallon fuel tank. 3 Slimfast shakes per day.

That would be really tough on a stock chassis.

Dee's car, which is a backhalf, weighs somewhere in the 1800 lbs range.

He barerly has any of the stock chassis left. Granted he has a huge fabricated rear end and such, but you would most likley be running something similar. His rear tire is most likley more then you would need to run. He has fiberglass everything, 1 peice front end, doors, hatch and no glass.

You wouldnt have that big heavy turbo to deal with, but he has a 5al fuel cell and ATV radiator.

Good luck, I think it's doable but its gonna be CLOSE if you have to keep the stock chassis along with the rollcage.
