Well Today was a Bad day for my car. It has been running very well the past week and I thought I would take it down to the Beach since it was such a pretty day out.

So I make the 1 hour drive down to Galveston and my car is running storng. When I get their, it is crowded with people and I get stuck in Stop-n-Go traffic. Well as I was sitting in Traffic my car dies. I start it back up and it idles at under 300rpms. So I keep my foot on the as to keep it from stalling again. Everytime I came to a stop my idle wouldn't go above 300rpms.

When I get to the parking lot I park and forget about it. When I got back in my car a few hours later smae ****! PLus!!! Someone took my damn Brake Vent!!!!! Now I am pissed because my car wasn't pulling at all, and I have a hole on the side of my car. As I am driving home I try to see if my car can still go. When I acelerate it takes off slowly. Not fast at all. Even if I floor it, it still only goes as fast as if I took off slowly. When get home it is still idling rough and doens't go above 300rpms.

I have been searching all over to see what the hell it is and expectng the worse. I just got back from driving around town for abour 20 minutes and my car was flying! It was like i was in a different car. It pulled hard and idled at a strong 900rpms. Barely bounced except when I put it in gear.

So is my engine a dud and needs another freaking rebuild. What could be wrong with it. I am thinking about rebuilding it this summer to learn about the engine and just to be safe. My cousin will probably help me also. But what could be causing this??

mabye you fouled the plugs while in stop and go traffic? It can cause your car to take a **** on you. That doesent explain how it ran better later on tho, unless tehy de-fouled somehow?

Sounds like you have a problem with heat. Seems a lot of guys have been finding lately that they have solenoids that don't work right when they get hot.

I would agree with Mike, but it is very strange that after the car cooled down it worked fine again.

it most likely fell off...

if you look close at the factory clips...they only have two prongs on em

purchasing new clips now has four prongs...mazda realized the failure and corrected..

had a friend lose a vent as well.. so its altogether not impossible to lose em..

I've heard that if you run your AC over 2 and you have a power fc it can mess with stuff. But then I am not that familiar with your symptoms or the finite details of the PFC. Just throwin some ideas out there.
