I Just Won This Ebay Fd, Opinions Please!
#12
I saw this car a week before he put it on ebay. It was at a local import event. His first pass he blew the engine (so I thought anyways). I believe it was caused from a nitrous backfire. I know it blew a huge chunk out of the manifold atleast. The car looked very sloppy in person. The only thing a liked about it was the 15th ann wing, although it was touching the tail lights.
Good luck with the car.
Good luck with the car.

I would never buy a car off of ebay...especially a highly modified/custom vehicle like that. You are asking for trouble.

Thanks for the replies! Someone on another board gave me the link to Shaun's (former owner) web board. Learned a lot today.
I hope to post some pics & impressions after I receive the car, which won't be for a couple of weeks.
Thanks again for your opinions!
Edit: For those lamenting the rotorless engine, remember I still have my other FD!

Maybe this is the reason it was so cheap?

Agreed, the riciness will have to go. But I cannot believe a car with this engine wouldn't be worth more...am I missing something? Got to be, what am I missing??

There are tons of arguments over htis on this wesite and others. This just proved a point, yeah you can do the swap but you have ruined the cars value and potential resale afterwards.
You definatly got your moneys worth but in all honesty a lot of purists hate these swaps and could not be bothered w/ them.
I would have bid about 9K for it and swapped a rotary back in it after selling that tricked engine. But thats just my opinion.
Enjoy it its obviously very fast and you would spend more than that making a Rotary FD that fast so in a way you have a deal. On the otherhand like I said the total lack of bids just proves no one really likes this swap.
