I bought PPG's version of the IS300 lexus paint, the dark metallic grey.. i bought 2 gallons of each and next week we start prepping my car for paint!!! I will post before, during, and after pics of the paint job. were doing it in my buddys paint booth.. were going to take roughly a month on it since were doing it on our spare time.. But we also want it to look like its soaking wet at all times :-) im going to trim the car in gloss black.. plus this is the time my body kit goes on it :-) heck yah I love my FD!!!
ohh by the way I knw a while back I was debating on colors and it was a last min change in my mind to go with the grey lol.. it was soo hot and beautiful and I could just see my car that color its going to be hawt!! at least I hope.

It takes like 2.5qrts to paint the car and you want leftover of the same batch to touch up. But 8qrts? Wow.
PPG is good paint but every stage requires different measurements be on your toes when mixing it. I like Sikkinz and Sherwin Williams.
Changing the color of a car is a nightmare. I only do it on frame off restorations. So best of luck.

Thanks guys, I personally have never sprayed before. Ive only did prep work and color sanding with buffing afterwards.. But he has painted many times before.. lol heck he owns his own paint booth and we are going to take our time on it.. yah 2 gal lol i got a good deal so i was like hmm yah why not... I honestly think the gun metal grey is going to look awsome on it expecially trimmed out in a hint of black. now I just have to get the motor out so I can beef it up but that prob wont happen till spring besides just normal bolt ons...
I will post pics of the before, during, and after stages...
