Well.......this kid is an idiot, hes a rich boy who has too much money. The "oil plug" fell out of the bottom of his car (according to him). So he just threw in a few more quarts of oil, and hes driving it now. I gave him a list from Rob Robinettes website about the reliability modifications he should do to his Rx-7 but he just gave me back the paper and said "if i blow the motor i will get a 3 rotor from a cosmo and transplant it myself..................". So oh well im not messing with him again. I know more about an rx-7 than he does and i dont even have one . Ill get one some day (wishful thinking is always good). thanks for your help on his "blown oil line"....
i bet he changes his own oil

Damn what a moron.Like a kid could do a 20B FD swap.Dumbass comes to mind.
i find that rather offensive, what does him being a "kid" have anything to do with his mechanical skills? at age 15/16 i built a 1952 Ford Jubilee tractor from ground up. Including stripping, rebuilding motor, rebuilding the difficult and damaged hydraulic system in place for the 3 point hitch, all that in a tractor that was almost 50 years old, and as "just a kid".

So perhaps you should not make such a general comment about an age group because if i had the money i'd gladly videotape myself doing a 20b swap, I for one am glad to take on the biggest jobs I can be given, or that i can take. Hell i created a completely custom 3" lower suspension for my 99 durango, along with stirpping the rear and custom molding a 3 12" JL system in the back with MDF and fiberglass. Then we can also revert to my first truck where i ripped the 4.0L I6 out of my wrangler and built it from bare block in my garage, with the only help coming when pulling the engine out with my engine jack, and when putting the engine back in as well. Also after blowing my trans i rebuilt it after my mechanic's rebuild blew up on me, and that was an automatic trans, and i was 17. I doubt you understood the complexity of an auto trans at age 17, now did you? (of course i could be wrong, i normally don't stereotype people). I have tons more of customization experiences including a 97 explorer, 94 geo metro, and plenty more vehicles where aftermarket pieces aren't exactly plentiful, or at least not for the exact goals my friends/customers had.

good day, sir.

also i've re-read my message and im sorry for use of such strong words and such, but I find it rather degrading to have my erntire age group summarized as novices, dumbasses, and "newbies". I'm simply trying to show people how to have an open-mind in this world.

i do most of my own work on the fd, im probablly one of the youngest people on this board. when the thread was first posted i'd bet he was referring to the people who bought an rx7 because it was "cool" and didnt care what it had in it, or knew anything about it. those people are what everyone was reffering to, not "young" people, but young people who do not even wish to know anything about their cars and have their mechanics deal with any problems their fd may have.

after 3 months of trying to do it, you know i spoke to a lot of people about it, and i didnt have the time with work. if i would've known before that your car would be done, i'd ask for your help. if i had an oil problem id try an figure out what was wrong, as i did before when the control rings blew 8 months ago, i asked you and our friend about what it was....

as i said, i'd do MOST of the work, rebuilding the engine is something id leave for someone else, porting is something i dont wanna mess with at this point in time. but hell, i ended up with one hell've a fun car...
