I did run synth 20-50 with no problems, wheni took apart the motor it had the carbon content just like any other i've done.

I am switching to that XR-1 stuff in straight 50w as soon as summer hits..

im goin to post a pic soon of the synthetic vers. vr-1 oil motor rotors and you will see the differance and be shocked. but in a rotary motor heat sucks so i and many of my freinds run either 20w50 or just 50 do to the heat we see in the motors where a thinner oil will thin out even more with heat , so thickin it up and less chance of break down , also thicker oil helps keep the e-shaft in its place or so i think , many people have there reasons this is mine.

im lookin for that pic of the comparoson hopfully i still have it.

ok so sum it up,

1. I can switch to this VR-1 20w50 with no problems.

2. The Vr-1 is like 2 bucks a qt ?

3. Pimps drive white FDs.

ok here is the pic, the 2 cleaner rotors are the 90 t2 rotors i had in my car , note also with that i had the omp locked open , a mechanical one, and the carbon rotors a 91 re cosmo rotors that recently was rebuilt and ran synthetic.

now i have looked all over this forum and have not seen any comparison shots like this so i hope anyone seeing this will see what the argument is all about with rotary and synthetic oil.

also should note the cleanest rotor was only whiped clean with a shop towel so just use the top left rotor and the 2 bottom rotors for this comparison.

if the price of a qt of oil is this important to you, what are you going to do when expensive repairs come up?
