okay i feel stupid... i didn't know about that. my friend is a welder and he just sighed and said you dumb *** grab the magnet so now i have determined it is steel. sorry for wasting anyones time who read this

Are you going to be welding this tank? Make sure you fill it with water or something if you are, an empty tank is probably just as dangerous as a full one when welding because it's the fuel vapour that's the danger.

good point to bring up. for obvious reasons as we don't want anyone to blow themselves up!

but , no I'm not welding it I have started on my e85 swap and I wanted to know if the tank is aluminum or steel turns out it was steel so I'm good.
