Unhappy

Whats up,

new to the forum and kind of new to RX7s. When the car sits at idle I have a strong fuel smell inside the car, but as soon as I start moving the smell is gone. The car does not seem to have any leaks and is good on gas mileage. If anyone has any ideas or can give me any help it would be great. Thanks.

I was driving the car today and now I have to pump the gas to get it started. also as soon I step on the clutch the car stalls. I know fuel lines, pump or filter might cause this but will the fuel pulsation damper also cause stalling and hard starting. Thanks

Dowd, I would check your Primary injectors. If they are leaking they could very well be creating the fuel odor, you sense. Also if they are leaking they could be leaking fuel when the motor is not running therefore making it much harder to "hot-start". I would check your complete fuel system, it's not hard, but removing everything to get to it is. The Fuel pulsation dampner is a very common problem and if you have higher mileage it might be a good idea to change. On a side note if you do change your injectors or at least clean them, I would change the small rubber insulators that sit directly below the injectors, and the rubber o-rings on the injectors.
