you have to use an impact gun or a really big breaker bar.

I forgot the size but you may need a gear puller too, but some people use a wood spike and a hammer. Just look out when that baby pops off! We used a gear puller and all of a sudden when we stopped to take a break, it flew off towards us. Luckily we caught it as it hit us in the chest.

In other words, leave the nut on a few threads if you use the wood spike and hammer.

2 1/8 inch socket.

To take flywheel off, Put nut back on for few couple of threads. Get big peice of firewood log and smash the sucker out. You want weight and blunt force and it will come out of it's taper seat. I've done 5 clutch job with the firewood and it works every time. Usually after 3 hits too.

Sometimes using a hammer and hitting the edge of the flywheel will loosen it (dont hit the ring gear)

the harmonic vibrations from the impacts (in theory) will loosen the flywheel.
