Looks nice.
What prompted the whole rebuild anyhow.

Well, one day I started it up and it smoked like crazy. It was oil. I figured my turbos let go. So I pulled them... And pulled more **** and more **** and more ****............ Next thing you know I have an easy 400+ hp car sitting in the garage waiting for me to put it back together...
Most of it is just because I like to tinker. Love cars. Everytime I get ready to put something backtogether that I don't like, I replace it with better ****... Fuel lines, oil lines.... You name it.
Now if I could only find a reasonable price on GAUGES....

hmm...would i be better off waiting till everything is in the car before i go to repaint it or would i be safe painting it and then putting the engine back in(like you did)? i kinda want new paint in the engine bay, but im afraid of scratching it while the engine is on its way in...what would be the best option for a novice?

If you do it while the motor is in, you risk missing spots and overspray..
If you do it while it's out.. You can do a really good job. Be careful putting it back in, and you'll be good to go!
