A buddy of mine is looking for a new OEM or rebuilt tranny for a 93. Anyone know of any place that he could find one? He doesn't want a used one. He said he talked to one place who searched a database for this part in the US and came up with nothing. They said they could ship one from japan for him but were looking at a month and a half to get it in. His car's been in the shop for a few months already dealing with a jackass aftermarket warrenty company that's screwing him around. Anyway, any help in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks

....or new tranny
no longer available new for the US last time i inquired

the cost is substantial as well..not worth it imho

new also doesnt always equate to better..

consider the cost relation to what you can get from a rebuilt assembled to your specs..

versus the cost of a jspec oem tranny..

yeah mazda said ~3k for a new one and his warranty company isn't gonna pay that much for one when they can get a used one for cheap. So he's looking elsewhere

lol I think he's got a post going somewhere on that board inquiring about it. I'm just looking for other sources to lend a helping hand if I can.

If you are really serious just get a hold of JUDGE ITO he's the one rebuilding it for Vosko "ITO-SPEC". It's got like ****** hardened everything man. Sounded killer. If I'm not mistaken it was talked about in the GURU DOGMISSION thread in Perfomance mods, but I didn't feel like checking(long *** thread). I think the price was around 1200 or so.
