true repaint could cost around 1400 for something like 3 or 4 coats of VR and 3 clearcoats. that would prolly last u a whle. depending on what u wanna spend u can skip a few layers and go for immediate satisfaction, i dont know about the long run though.



my paint it fading bad on my side views but it mint condition minus some rock chips. i have a feeling the owner repainted b4 selling..... thats the trouble with ebaymotors, u dont know whats been done to ur car in the past

 

egh im cheap as hell and i want it done right, so im at a loss. i think im going the sanding route and see what else they can throw in for me. with clear applied.

 

Putting clear on will not make it look less faded. I don't know much about dealing with un-cleared finishes but I'd say wet sanding with high grit (1,000 at first and then 1,500) followed by buffing with a course compound, then diamond cut, then swirl remover, then show car glaze and then wax should get things looking better.
