assumption is that your system is dry...

youll need to evacuate the refrigerant....

dont vent to atmosphere..

outside of that rnr is fairly straight forward...

you can buy just the evaporator. MAKE SURE you know WHAT SYSTEM YOU HAVE. the nippondenso/factory ac has a silver/natural aluminum reciever dryer with the sight glass on it. it occurs mostly on 93 early 94 tourings.

the port installed ac has a black reciever dryer, with the sight glass on one of the pipes. its the more common of the two. the threads and pipes are different between the 2 systems. the only real part that interchanges is the compressor

bascially you pull out the glove box and pull out the evaporator, its about 2 hour job to r&r

you'll also need a pretty good sized wrench to get the nuts off the hardlines in the engine bay.. and new o-rings along with the A/C oil.. its better to prolly take it to Mazda for this one.. kinda hard to f-up A/C there.

You won't have all the right equipment to do it correctly and safely.

<is ASE cert in A/C and cooling
