Is there any one who has don this? What are the hangs ups i should be aware of?
AND is there a way to buy a new one with buying a complete system from mazda? |
assumption is that your system is dry...
youll need to evacuate the refrigerant.... dont vent to atmosphere.. outside of that rnr is fairly straight forward... |
you can buy just the evaporator. MAKE SURE you know WHAT SYSTEM YOU HAVE. the nippondenso/factory ac has a silver/natural aluminum reciever dryer with the sight glass on it. it occurs mostly on 93 early 94 tourings.
the port installed ac has a black reciever dryer, with the sight glass on one of the pipes. its the more common of the two. the threads and pipes are different between the 2 systems. the only real part that interchanges is the compressor bascially you pull out the glove box and pull out the evaporator, its about 2 hour job to r&r |
you'll also need a pretty good sized wrench to get the nuts off the hardlines in the engine bay.. and new o-rings along with the A/C oil.. its better to prolly take it to Mazda for this one.. kinda hard to f-up A/C there.
You won't have all the right equipment to do it correctly and safely. <is ASE cert in A/C and cooling |
thanks guys.
