Hi,

Is there a difference between the 1993 and 1997 rx-7 engines compression??

Can a block from a 1993 be used in a 1997?

if yes how come the 1993 model had 255 the 1997 model had 265 hp and 1999 had 280 hp... Is it just because of Enhanced turbocharger efficiency and cooling performance due to increased air-intake?

I think it is because of the turbos but a friennd has been arguing with me that the compression is different...

engines are the same essentially. i think 96+ engines have slightly better rotor housings with a better coating on them. the main thing giving more power is the turbos which are much better

the engine assembly is the same from 91-02. they did upgrade the rotor housings for 99, but they have superceeded so those are the only ones you can buy now

thats because there is no difference. What mike said was correct, no need to reiterate that fact
