Question

Hi all.

Yesterday I started my stock jap import to let it warm up for a bit. I got in the car after a couple of minutes and noticed a constant tone of some sort. No warning lights were visible and all gauges checked out. I turned the car off and the tone remained. I checked my park lights etc and all seemed fine.

So I decided to pull fuses. Pulling the ROOM fuse stopped the tone. However then when the key was turned to the ON position (and when started of course) the tone was back again. More fuse pulling and the METER fuse was the culprit.

Any ideas of what I can do from here before I am forced to give it to the auto electrician.

Thanks in advance.

Daz.

Default

Just a bit of an update on my problem.

I checked for error codes and found none. I also reset the computer out of desperation but to no avail.

But I did find that the tone is actually timed. It times out after 15 seconds once the doors are closed.

This 15 seconds coincides with the keyhole light period.

However even after the tone has ceased once the key is turned to the ON position the tone returns.

Cheers.
