mazda reman engine 30k miles, full exhaust, intake, manual boost controller.

pettit unlimitted ecu, 12lbs of boost

the engine blew at 4000rpm on 2nd gear (i doubt that i over boosted)and i had brand new plugs (10mins old) wires were wired correctly .

i have a feeling that my coils went bad, i have been getting a very rough idle the past couple of days, and first thought it was the plug wires, so i replaced those, car was running good for a few mins but then back to the same crappy idle, then i replaced the plugs.... the car was then running perfectly for the next 5 mins.... for the warmup... then i stepped on it to see if its back to its old pretty fast self............................................

KABOOM!!!!! the HUGEST flame came out of my tailpipe, my rear view mirror all i could see was fire(no black in the sky, couldnt even see the car behind me)

oh yeah............ i was also having problems starting the car before we changed the plugs.... and with 1 rotor working it started like a champ within 2 seconds

we did the compression test with a compression tester, and the normal wooosh test. we thought the compression tester was broken but when we measured the front rotor, we got all 90's.... so we tried the rear rotors again and still got 0 0 0

Sucks man, sorry to hear it. At least it wasn't further away, I drove from Seattle to Portland on one rotor (no roadside assist., no credit card) a two hour trip turned to four, five then six...
